Tailored to each tier, your sponsorship provides unique avenues to make a lasting impact on the future workforce.
Career Awareness
Introduce students to various career options and help them understand what it takes to succeed in different fields.
- Supporting (1.5 – 4 Hours Month)
Workplace Tour: Host a small group of students for a workplace tour, discussing career options, required education, a typical day, and more. - Advocate (4 – 8 Hours Month)
Career Fair: Staff a booth at a career fair, offering advice on pursuing a career, skills and knowledge needed, and career roles and responsibilities. - Trailblazer (10 -15 Hours per Month)
Mentor/Coach: Provide support, guidance, and motivation to help students explore careers and enter the world of work. - Visionary (40+ Hours Month)
Online Job Post Board: Post and update current employment opportunities for your business so students can apply for part-time, full-time positions or apprenticeships.
Career Exploration and Planning
Help students explore different career paths and plan for their future with hands-on experiences and mentorship.
- Supporting (30 – 90 minutes)
Live/Online Demonstration: Provide a work demonstration with opportunity for Q&A from student questions about specific topics or the profession. - Advocate (2 hours per speaking engagement)
In-Person Guest Speakers: Send employees to speak in classrooms, serve as keynote speakers for student organizations, and participate in other school-based functions with Q&A opportunities. - Trailblazer (4-8 hours a week)
Job Shadow: Allow students to observe, discuss, and participate in the daily routines and activities of a particular job. - Visionary (45+ hours a month)
Volunteer Work Experience: Provide students with opportunities to volunteer on the job site and gain employability skill trainings.
Career Training
Equip students with the skills and experience they need to excel in their chosen careers.
- Supporting (4+ hours)
Virtual Career Chat: Participate in an online call to discuss your work and highlight key components students may need in the industry. - Advocate (2 – 6 hours)
Resume Development/Mock Interview: Offer feedback to students on their resumes and their responses to interview questions. - Trailblazer (60+ hours/6 – 8 weeks)
Internship: Provide professional work experience that applies classroom learning and builds skills. - Visionary (480+ hours)
Youth Apprenticeship: Offer paid on-the-job training based on state youth apprenticeship curriculum guidelines *This is about a two year set up process.
